Yesterday my new book, Find your circadian rhythm, was published. I started the day in Go ’Morgen Danmark and ended the day with a fantastic book reception. The title of the book must be understood in more than one sense.
1) Your circadian rhythm is your sleep-wake rhythm. You are born with a circadian rhythm. It’s not something you choose. All people have an internal clock that controls body temperature, hormone levels and cognitive performance. The more you live in harmony with your inner clock — the better your health, learning and productivity.
2) How do you organize the 24 hours of the day so that you live and work more in step with your internal clock? I come up with a lot of concrete answers to that in the book. I believe that we humans can make more profit in everyday life by synchronizing our circadian rhythm, work rhythm (s) and family rhythms. The time has come for a showdown with the 9-to-5 rhythms of industrial society. We must create new inclusive rhythms in our society that can support our differences in family rhythms, work rhythms and circadian rhythms.
